So, last Thursday, Angela Hacker beat her brother Zac Hacker to win Nashville Star 5.  Angela & Zac were my top 2 from the get go so there was no real surprise.  This season's contestants was nowhere near the calliber of the Season 4 finalist.  I did buy a couple of Angela & Zac's songs on itunes. 

Maybe if the solo thing doesn't work out, the record company will turn them into a duo.  That hasn't happened yet on N-Star or idol.

Nashville Star 5

Tonight is the premiere of Nashville Star 5.  I don't know if it can top last year's show, but I'm looking forward to seeing the contestants for the first time.  And apparently, the judges eliminate  two contestants tonight before turning over the voting to the viewers next week.

It's hard to pick a favorite from the clips on the website.  I remember last year I wasn't too impressed with any of them, but everything changed once they hit the stage "live".  I haven't chosen anyone as my favorite yet.

I'll miss Wynonna as a host and we'll see how Jewel does as the new host.  She's got to be better than LeAnn Rimes/Sara Evans in Season 3!  And what is up with Jewel?  She's going from pop to dance to now Country?  Although one could argue that her debut cd had tinges of Country/folk.

Cowboy Troy is back, as well as Anastacia Brown.  No Phil Vassar this year (BOO!) but Blake Shelton & Randy Owen (from Alabama) are there.  Some Beach!

The show airs on the USA Network at 9ET. Here's hoping for a good series.

Yuuuuuuuuul!

So the racial experiment season of Survivor has come to an end and my favotite, Yul wins!  It's the first time an Asian male wins Survivor.  As a bonus, he's hot with freakin' killer abs!  Second place went to Ozzy who I also liked and was a challenge monster.  Overall, I enjoyed this season.  Next season is in Fiji.

Another Ulong bites the dust...Say goodnight, Jeff!  Hope that ankle is felling better...you quitter.
But it is sad to lose another eye candy. 

The Debate

CNN.com - Poll: Kerry tops Bush in debate - Oct 1, 2004

I tried. I tried to watch. I just couldn't because I knew what each candidate was going to say. There were no surprises. Everything was scripted and planned. I just want to know if any of these televised debates really will change a voters mind? Or do people strictly vote party line?
