So, I created anew category on the Blythe Doll. Imagine that. A grown man fascinated by a girly doll. Maybe it's my flashback to my childhoood when I never had a girly doll? Who knows. But this one is damn fascinating!
If you have never seen a Blythe Doll, you must not have watched VH1's "I Love the 70's" series. The dolls have an oversized head with a tiny slim body. But the unique thing about them is that if you pull a string behind their head, their eyes change color & direction! My doll has four eye colors: Blue, Green, Pink and Orange. The pink & orange are freaky & when they are that color, it looks like she stepped right out of a "Night of the Living Dead" movie. The dolls sort of looks like Christina Ricci.
There are many different Blythe Dolls out there. I chose Cinnamon Girl.. She's one of the only ones with a tan and her hair color is brown. She reminds me of one of my favorite Japanese Pop singers, Namie Amuro. I changed her name from Cinnamon Girl to "Rieko" since all the Blythe fanatics seem to change their names as soon as they get them. Rie seems to fit the doll IMHO. She does take amazing photographs and some Blythe fans have taken beautiful pictures of their dolls. Photographer Gina Garan has published two books with her photographs of Blythe.
Anyway, this dolls thing is my new fascination and I guess totally puts me in the Duck House a Go Go! Enjoy.
